So this is so very (very, very) cool: Within this setting at Business Furniture + Co. are hand drawn sketches of employees’ pets. They are beaufully done but (more importantly) such a great demonstration of investment in employees and how Business Furniture values people—as well as personalization of the office. And of course it’s not just about sketches of pets, it’s the bigger picture of the positive culture.
Background: When Business Furniture was redesigning their office significantly, they subtly asked for photos of people’s pets and then these sketches were a surprise when they all came back to the new space. People were touched and moved by the gesture.
I love dogs so it’s partly about that for me, but I also have big respect for a culture where this kind of thing happens (and all the people who independently say they love working for Business Furniture are a strong signal too!).
Culture is manifest in many ways, and this is a lovely example!
