Happiness doesn’t have to be big or loud. In fact, it often tiptoes in during small moments. The Happiness Project is designed to capture those moments and inspire—based on how the compact can have so much consequence. Here is an example from Chloë Redeye, a student at Michigan State University:
Moment of Happiness
One thing that brings me happiness is my vegetable garden. Each year, I grow a combination of tomatoes and peppers, along with any other requests from my family. Then, I harvest everything I can and deliver the fresh produce to my friends and family. The way that this garden brings together so many people, who mean so much to me, is what truly brings me happiness. This picture was from last year, right after all of the tomato plants were planted!
Defining Happiness
Happiness can be defined in so many ways, but Chloë specifically sees happiness as a state of mind when people are fully aware of their present state of being. Specifically, this state of mind being an awareness of how the world feels around you and how you feel within the world.
Creating Happiness
Chloë Redeye creates happiness for others through her consistently positive outlook on life. Although negative experiences may bring people down, Chloë does her best to help others find strength and persevere through tough times.
Chloë Redeye is a student at Michigan State University, graduating in 2021. She is a double major in psychology and communication with a minor in leadership of organizations. She is part of the honors college and a social science scholar and part of the VIM blog team.
