Happiness doesn’t have to be big or loud. In fact, it often tiptoes in during small moments. The Happiness Project is designed to capture those moments and inspire—based on how the compact can have so much consequence. Here is an example from Fannie Glover, Director of Equity and Inclusion, Early Care and Learning Council:

Moment of Happiness

I find happiness in moments with my grandson. Watching him holding a baby kangaroo and observing the beauty of the moment brought–and brings–much happiness to my being.  I hold onto these moments because the present moment is the gift and the future.

Defining Happiness

Happiness is a CHOICE. We choose Happiness, moment by moment.  I define Happiness as loving and being loved, giving and receiving, teaching and being teachable.  Happiness is a state of BEING.

Creating Happiness

I create happiness for others by attending to my own well-being while remembering, the way I treat self, will be reflected in the way I treat others.

Fannie Glover is the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Early Care and Learning Council.
